Lakeside is Brisbane's favorite race track according to those who voted in the recent poll. The options were Murrarie, Nundah, Synergy Park, Lakeside and Nerang (which is in fact closer too the Gold Coast!). . Nundah just knicked Murrarie for a close second. The 2.5km Lakeside Circuit offers riders a myriad of bergs up the back strait and a long flat dash too the finish, a great place to race. Thankyou to all 64 people who voted! Chris Williams is always a threat, his breakaway abilities are arguably the best in the peleton.

Matt Wood of Fusion is a fast finisher haveing won numerous criteriums already this year, he finished a contreversial 2nd place.

The A grade field was content with a 'slowish' average speed of 44km/h, pherhaps thinking of what was to come eg: 115 km Road Race with numerous hills. The A graders had a good warm up with the ipswich kermesse.

Merida, abundent with Road Race speciallists will flourish on Sunday, riders such as James Hepburn, Chris Williams, Steven Hendrak, climbing speciallist Matt Murray and super sprinter Matt Ryan all in contention for the win. New rider Tom Bently, winner of the ANZAC 25 will also be in the mix.

Peter Thompson of fusion provided a good leadout for Matt Wood on the day. Fusion who specialize in criteriums performed well.

Chris Williams will be a hot prospect in the upcoming time trials with his ability to ride away.

Mark Ledgerwood of Bike Sales Elite Cycling Team has rediscovered some serious form of late, dominating the Bike Week Cup.
